Poetry By Others

Here is some poetry submitted by visitors to the "Little Voice" website. A big thank you to Bob (credited as her real name below) and her sister for helping kick-start this section with some brilliant poems that they wrote when they were teenagers. Thank you so very much for digging them out from under the bed and I hope you can write more soon.

If you would also like to submit a poem for display here, please contact me and I will credit you too.

Pity

Avoiding thoughts and hidden depths,
Not knowing what to find,
Pretending life and love is lost,
While pitying the mind.

Distressing moans and random sounds
Enchanting, in their Hell,
Distracted by the mystic voice
But pitying the shell.

The makers of appalling truths,
Which lesser griefs console,
Concealed from nature’s gracious loss,
Are pitying the soul.

Confuse about the Devil’s child,
With eyes receiving sin.
This vision killed their happiness,
Which used to lie within.

Imprisoned In Me

Protesting their silence,
A desperate hue.
Dreading the feelings
Imprisoned in you.

Miscarried inquest
With chance to occur.
The death of a child
Imprisoned in her.

Hiding their faces,
It’s me they condemn.
Their laughter escaping,
Imprisoned in them.

Caged in and veiled,
Not spilling the brim.
Loves incognito
Imprisoned in him.

Shatter the glass
To set my soul free
And get to the person
Imprisoned in me.

The Virgin Fruit

At first the skin was pure, untouched
But Satan took the sinful bite
And purity was gone.
At once, the fruit was eaten,
Which hunger had devoured,
And what was left was thrown away to rot.

The Music

I sit alone with tears in my eyes
Feeling the music fill the skies,
Heavenly voices dancing away
Angelic and childlike as they play.

Love is the music of the heart
For everyone it’s the vital part,
Beauty is ringing through my ears
The fear in my heart disappears.

For the moment I’m happy
Music is ecstasy,
My happiness crumbles,
As a thunderbolt rumbles.

Far away but coming nearer,
The music is hate and getting clearer,
Demons are back, they taunt and tease
The music of love falls to its knees.

Both love and hate battle through history
The winner of time will be a mystery,
Two music’s are here and never ending
One is breaking, the other mending.

Hate we pass and love we strive,
These two music’s rules our lives,
Love and hate rolled into one
Just let the music live on and on.
